Daniel provides a powerful example of a man willing to stand alone. It did not matter that the leadership of Babylon insisted on a particular diet. He knew he was right and that giving in would mean defiling himself. “But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself.” It didn’t matter what pressure others applied.

John 13:1-20 describes the events during the Last Supper, where Jesus washes the feet of his disciples, demonstrating humility and service. The passage begins with Jesus knowing that his hour had come to depart from the world, and he shows love to his disciples to the end. He takes off his outer clothing, wraps a towel around his waist, and washes their feet, teaching them the importance of serving one another.
